The big difference here is that, in Chess Royale, you're duking it out against 99 other players, rather than the seven opponents you'll find in other autobattlers - because this is apparently what 'royale' means now. You'd think this would be bullshit. An inalienable part of autobattlers is chance, and in a situation where you're up against so many other players, it seems inevitable that one of them will be bound to get luckier than you. You'd think victory would go to whoever happened to dip their hand into the old bag o' wizards and pull out the most copies of a hero, but: nope. Not a thing.

The UI has clearly been designed with mobile users at its forefront. Buttons for using the store, unlocking spells, and levelling up are particularly prominent, and the lack of fine motor control provided by a mouse has likely contributed to the choice of a very small playing board. Armies are arranged on a 3x8 grid, dramatically capping tactical depth by taking an entire row away from the chess board-style layout that helped give the genre its name. Thanks to the introduction of several powerful units who confer important buffs on their closest allies, many of my most successful games have hinged on my ability to simply huddle all my fighters together in the centre of the board. Some loadouts have required a little more planning, but broadly, once your army is in place, there's little need to move it around, which feels jarring given the ever-evolving strategy of similar games.

As a response to the hyper-complexity of the MOBAs that spawned it, the relative simplicity of the autobattler as a genre seemed to have achieved all that it needed to. Yet Chess Royale has emerged as a streamlined, fast-paced alternative, each match finishing in half the time I might spend despairing over my Teamfight Tactics line-up. The dalliance with battle royale adds little to the conversation, but the pick-up-and-play approach is a welcome change to a genre that was never really about actually playing anyway.

If you're new to auto-battlers, a fan-generated genre that skyrocketed into popularity last year, they are tactical strategy games with drafting elements from card games. Players fight each other in random one-vs.-one matches by placing drafted units onto a "chessboard," and when the round starts, the two teams of units fight one another automatically.

Another great set, that was popular at top level chess in the 1980's and 1990's. This set is a much loved version of the classic Staunton done in a simple and elegant way that is lovely to play with. Thanks RCM for another wonderful job.

My new chess pieces from Royal Chess Mall have a very impressive feel and appearance, especially for the price. I've seen other chess piece sets for as much a twice the cost of my new 4.2" Rare American Staunton Luxury Chess Piece Set but were not worth twice the price. Great value, secure packaging, fast shipment, and exquisite chess pieces make the 4.2" Rare American Staunton Luxury chess piece set something that I will enjoy for years to come.

Parents need to know that Might & Magic: Chess Royale is a battle royale styled real-time action game available for download on Android and iOS mobile devices. This is the latest game based around the long-running Might and Magic franchise. One hundred random players face off in fast-paced rounds of fantasy action, choosing and placing units before watching the results play out in automated combat. Although the game has players compete with other players, communication is limited to specific comments ("Well played", "Wow", etc.). Combat is central to the game, but is generally represented by flashy effects, with no blood or gore shown onscreen. Some female units have revealing character models, but the top-down camera perspective limits the detail that can be seen.

MIGHT & MAGIC: CHESS ROYALE brings a unique new twist to the battle royale genre, challenging players to run the gauntlet and survive against ninety-nine other players in fast-paced, magic-fueled combat. You'll recruit and deploy classic characters and creatures from the Might & Magic universe, each with their own specific roles, factions, and special abilities. Players will have to keep an eye on the clock as they craft cunning strategies and synergies on the fly, hoping to gain an advantage on the battlefield. You'll watch the battles unfold automatically before your eyes, as luck and skill come together to determine the victor. Win, and you move on to the next opponent in the next round. Lose, and you're one step closer to complete elimination.

Usually, when you think of a game of chess, you think of a tactical turn-based battle of wits between two opponents, with lots of strategy and forethought between calculated moves. Might & Magic: Chess Royale is nothing like that. The game's a frantic, chaotic speed tournament, pitting one hundred players against each other in battles that are just as much about pure luck as they are about any kind of skill or strategy. But before that, you've first got to figure out just what the heck is going on.

A good way to get ahead in entertainment is by following trends. That's very evident in the world of video games, especially when it comes to the recent trend of battle royale games, which take a large number of players, usually around a hundred, and make them fight it out until there's one person standing. The battle royale genre has steadily and inexorably climbed in popularity throughout the 2010s, progressing from mods to popular games like Minecraft to monumental standalone games like PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds and Fortnite. Now Ubisoft is attempting to put a spin on the genre by combining it with another recent phenomenon in multiplayer gaming: the auto battler. Might & Magic: Chess Royale is a hybrid of two of multiplayer gaming's biggest trends, and while it may not be the best of either of them, it's still a decently fun multiplayer experience.

Your enjoyment of Might & Magic: Chess Royale will depend more on if you're an auto battler fan than if you're a battle royale fan. It's less a true blending of the genres and more an auto battler set in a battle royale. But it's a perfectly fine auto battler, a good way to flex your strategic chops, and a nice quick diversion when you don't have anything better to do; whole 100-person games can go by in ten minutes or so. If you're interested in the genre that's taking strategic multiplayer by storm, there are worse ways to get into it than by trying Might & Magic: Chess Royale.

To activate class synergy, you will have to place a certain number of units that belong to the same class. Class synergies can be activated even when you place only half of the units on the chess board. Example: If you place 2 warriors on the board, then all warriors will gain 20 percent bonus damage. But if you place 4 warriors, the damage will increase to 50. But in case of faction synergies, you must have full units from the same faction on the board to activate them.

It seems every day we play chess here on your game, it boots us out. At the top of the screen it says something went wrong and then a frown. Can you help us. We love playing chess. Thanks for all you do. Kindest regards, Mike.

This game is a variant of chess where players make moves in real time rather than in turns and the goal is to directly capture the enemy king. However, making a move costs inspiration, a resource that one gains over time.

Our main challenge was matching players against a suitable opponent, either a human or an ai. In the end, we decided to use websockets to match players against each other. Additionally, creating a real-time chess game invited issues that were difficult to fix, especially when we factor in the multiplayer feature.

Inspired by the popular Dota 2 Auto Chess game mode, Eonica Chess Battle is a an auto-battler, mixing together elements of the classic chess game with elements from the fantasy fiction world. The game features 8 players competing against each other in an exciting last man standing duel.
